Due to the increasing volume of cyberattack incidents, the defence capabilities of Hong Kong’s critical infrastructure computer systems against cyberattacks have become fragile, even undermine the daily operations of society and public safety. Recently, The Government announced that The Protection of Critical Infrastructures (Computer Systems) Bill will be published and introduced into the Legislative Council for First Reading and Second Reading. The Bill aims to establish a regulatory framework to ensure the cybersecurity of computer systems for critical infrastructures.
The statutory responsibilities under the Bill are divided into three broad categories. Organisational obligations, preventive obligations, and incident reporting and response obligations. What are the statutory responsibilities that need to be fulfilled under the three major categories? How can the operators of critical infrastructures get prepared to fulfil their statutory responsibilities? We will invite speakers from B & Data and Palo Alto Networks to share a series of preparation checklists, which allow you to fulfil legal obligations while also to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure against cyberattacks.
