Hong Kong, for instance, will need to hire hundreds of thousands more IT professionals in the next five years to meet the market demand. Tech talent shortage issues particularly impact small and medium-sized enterprises and digital transformation is becoming the biggest challenge for many of them.<\/p>\n<p>The pandemic has accelerated digital transformation, and the way that work gets done and how organisations operate have changed dramatically. Hong Kong enterprises must speed up digital transformation to keep pace with the rest of the world and expand their footprint.<\/p>\n<p>According to the study of Gartner, a technological research and consulting firm, enterprise IT spending on Cloud computing will overtake spending on traditional IT in 2025. 65.9% of spending on application software will be directed toward Cloud technologies, up from 57.7% in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Cloud computing, which helps improve efficiency and reduce cost, is at the centre of digital transformation. As Cloud technologies and applications become increasingly popular, Cloud migration is no longer a privilege for large enterprises but essential to small and medium-sized enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>To address the pressing needs to digital transformation, many large enterprises are paying high salary premium to recruit top IT talents. But for small and medium-sized enterprises, investing in the best technological solutions would be more cost-effective than fighting the talent war.<\/p>\n<p>Managed services serve as a good example. It is a common fallacy that outsourcing is not effective, but with the help of a professional team with industry know-how, enterprise can reduce IT management burden.
