It has become the costliest cyber epidemic to hit Hong Kong, and the threat shows no signs of slowing down. Cybercriminals use various tactics to deploy ransomware, such as phishing emails, social engineering, and exploiting vulnerabilities in software and hardware.<\/p><p>The recent ransomware incidents in Hong Kong have had a devastating impact on businesses. The WannaCry ransomware attack in 2017 affected <a style=\"color: #f36f21; border-bottom: .1em solid #f36f21;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/us-set-to-declare-north-korea-carried-out-massive-wannacry-cyber-attack\/2017\/12\/18\/509deb1c-e446-11e7-a65d-1ac0fd7f097e_story.html\" rel=\"noopener\">over 230,000 computers<\/a> globally, including Hong Kong.
